Innovation Industries

Founded in March 2010 and located in the greater Amsterdam area, in heart of the city of Almere. Innovation Industries is a media innovation center that focuses on bringing relevant, high quality and innovative knowledge and products to the media industry.

Innovation Industries brings theory and practice together by using three pillars:

Education
The Innovation Industries management team has contributed directly to the Master in Media Innovation program of NHTV University of Applied Sciences Breda and used its extensive academic and industry connections to attract guest lecturers. The “practice what you preach” approach of the Professional Master in Media Innovation puts graduates right at the heart of the media innovation industry. (download the program in PDF)

Pilots
In order to support academics, students, and entrepreneurs in the marketing of their innovative media products, Innovation Industries and NHTV have, parallel to the development of the Master program, created a platform to facilitate pilot projects and start ups. Innovation Industries offers accommodation, advice, network, development and is currently setting up a pre seed fund.

Funding
Innovation Industries understands that commercialization of innovative media projects requires solid financial backing. Innovation Industries connects viable commercial media projects and companies with investors and – to the extent needed – will arrange for government subsidies. Initially, the focus will be on early stage venture funding. At a later stage, Innovation Industries will establish a large dedicated venture capital media fund
